It's Been A While

Hey guys! Miss me?

It's been a while, almost three months to be exact. Although I've still been active on Twitter, I haven't really found the time or space for blogging recently. I wanted to get back into it sooner, but I seemed to have a mental block, and the longer I put it off the worse it got - what do I write about? what do I say? The blogosphere has changed so much over the years, gone are the blurry mobile images, and in with the shot to perfection photography. I think it's brilliant how far blogging has come and the general standard of posts that people are producing, but sometimes it can be hard to live up to that style, let alone maintain it. The thing is, I want to strive for that kind of quality, and I would like to think we have a good thing going here!

The Ultimate Pale Skin Saviour | The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops

The Ultimate Pale Skin Savior | The Body Shop | Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops

The days of mismatching foundation neck lines are a thing of the past with the new shade adjusting drops from The Body Shop! I have never once found a high street foundation that matches my skin tone, and very few high-end at that rate too. Obviously The Body Shop must have heard my cries, and have brought out possibly the most exciting product I've come across recently, and that is shade adjusting drops!

I picked up the lightening drops, and to be honest I was a bit sceptical at first. I know my fellow ghosts will understand! The liquid is an off-white shade with white and pink pigments to help neutralise yellowness while lightening, which actually doesn't affect the consistency of the foundation when mixed together. One drop is roughly equivalent to half a shade lighter, however I tend to use much more than this since I'm quite pale (usually a 50/50 mix - about 4 or 5 drops). The only thing I did pick up on was that because I was mixing it to make quite a pale shade, I noticed brush stroke marks to be more visible. That being said, it is nothing that a little extra care when applying makeup can't solve.

Benefit Shopping Spree

Benefit Shopping Spree | Dandelion blusher Rollerlash mascara

Benefit is not usually a brand I actively seek out when makeup shopping, however after I was really blown away by the well-known Rollerlash (featured in the makeup on the go blog post), I definitely wanted to re-purchase it. Fortunately House of Fraser had a great offer on, meaning I was able to get a travel sized tube as well as the full sized for the same price if you had just bought the regular version on its own.

I'm still quite a newbie when it comes to blushes, however I couldn't resist picking up Dandelion after testing it out in my local House of Fraser store. It is a soft pink shade (perfect for pale skin!), which although does come with a little brush, I much prefer to use my own Real Techniques blush brush to sweep a little colour on to build up a beautiful glow! The only let-down is that there is quite a lot of empty space in the box, I feel there ought to be more product, or less bulky packaging.
